About the Event
Music lovers are invited to a special lunchtime concert featuring the esteemed baritone Ken Scicluna, accompanied by the talented pianist Elaine Mercieca.
The concert will feature classics such as Stephen Sondheim’s introspective Send in the Clowns, Henry Mancini’s hauntingly beautiful Charade, and Frederick Loewe’s wistful I’ll Talk to the Trees. The programme also includes the bold and defiant I, Don Quixote by Mitch Leigh, the sultry Slow Hot Wind by Henry Mancini, and the ever joyful Singin’ in the Rain by Herb Brown.
Further highlights include Frederick Loewe’s spirited I’m on My Way and Wand’rin’ Star, alongside the timeless charm of Moon River by Henry Mancini. Rodgers & Hammerstein are well represented with the stirring Some Enchanted Evening and the uplifting You’ll Never Walk Alone. The concert also features If I Were a Rich Man by Jerry Bock, the romantic Be My Love by Nicholas Brodszky, and the deeply moving I’ll Walk with God.
Set against the serene backdrop of Our Lady of Victory Church, this concert promises a compelling blend of drama, passion, and melody, brought to life by two outstanding performers.
Organised by the Barocco Foundation, these popular lunchtime concerts bring recognition to established and emerging talent and offer a variety of repertoires. Do join us and enjoy the special acoustics of the church under its magnificent Alessio Erardi painted ceiling.
Reservations at €10 per person either by booking on baroccobookings@gmail.com or directly at the entrance of the church.
A viewing of the 10 minute documentary ‘Grand Master de Valette and his first church of Valletta’ in our underground cinema is free of charge to all patrons.
