This edition is a collaboration with our activist friends at Young Progressive Beings for to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Punk poet rascal Sam Vassallo will set the tone of the evening, starting each session off with some poetry, according to the pre-conceived theme. Then, the floor is yours – poets, punks and poetry lovers are invited to share their own verses, drifting to and from the given theme.

The verses can be yours or those of other poets.

This edition’s theme, in line with this year’s international theme for women’s day is collective liberation. What does liberation mean for you? What can can imagine freedom to look like? When was the last time you felt powerful, or raised up your women peers to be? Is there poetry you’ve written or have read by others that makes you feel free? Come down on the 6th and share it with us.

Poetry is from the future. Poetry has the power to immortalise, to defy time and place, conjuring new, ethereal moments with every fresh reading.
