About the Event
Transgender people have been able to access legal gender recognition in Slovakia for more than 40 years. The Slovak parliament is now proposing to change the legislation and make gender recognition impossible. They will vote on it in May 2023.
MGRM has answered the call from Slovak activists to show mutual solidarity and we are calling LGBTIQ persons and allies in Malta to join us on Thursday at 7:00pm in front of the Slovak Consulate in Malta.
We are demanding that the bill is voted against and the rights of transgender people safeguarded. Malta has one of the most progressive laws that safeguard the rights of transgender persons and we believe that other countries should follow suit.
